The Effects of Violence on Children’s Friendships
How does exposure to high levels of neighborhood violence affect children? In a study with Mario Small published in Sociological Science, I examine how violence affects children's friendship formation. We find that violence makes children choose friends strategically and reduces their ability to form trusting relationships.
